GIG NATIONAL CHEF TO PLATE/ NATIONAL CELIAC AWARENESS MONTH

May is celiac awareness month. GIG is gearing up now for the 2010 campaign. This campaign is aimed at spreading awareness of celiac disease and gluten intolerances in partnership with restaurants that provide GF menu offerings. This is not about the promotion of any specific restaurant program.

A program designed to be national program became an international campaign in its first year! Chef to Plate: Celebrating Restaurants Serving Up Gluten Free Awareness was strictly an awareness campaign - No funds were raised as part of this campaign.

We are already gearing up for 2010 and hope that all the celiac organizations invited this year will participate next year…This is one way to work together. Don’t wait – get involved now.

Ways to help:
1. Send GIG national restaurants with gluten-free menus you frequent and trust. They will send them an invitation to participate. Click here to sign up your restaurant. Or send complete information to rebecca.powell@gluten.net to recommend your favorite restaurants with gluten-free menus.
2. Help distribute the campaign materials to restaurants in your area. We will send you all the information and the participating restaurants. All you have to do it hand-deliver the materials to the restaurant before May 1st. Click here to become a campaign leader.
3. Spread the word about this campaign to the public.
Participating restaurants loved this campaign last year and are eager to join again. So let’s help make this year even more successful than last.
